I issued my latest challenge to
Stefan today and this is my contribution. Our previous challenges have centred on taking photos of objects in an interesting or unusual way so I decided to suggest something less specific to offer different creative possibilities – circles. My first thought was to use these Smarties as they are round but it proved something of a challenging to buy some – every shop I visited didn’t stock them! Eventually I tracked some down to the shop in the next village and I bought four tubes to be sure of having a decent section of colours – the things I do for my art!
My initial idea was to lay them out in lines but I decided this was too dull and went for these concentric circles instead. I shot them from above first but that looked pretty uninspiring so I went for this jauntier angle instead and used my 50mm lens wide open (f1.8) to create some blur in the outer rings. Over to you Stefan – I’m looking forward to your take on this and the next challenge. If anyone else would like to join us in this one you’d be very welcome indeed – I’d love to see what others come up with.
